CasaScan Privacy Policy

CasaScan is a room scanner for iPhone Pro, and it is built so that your home never leaves your phone. This page lists exactly what the app keeps on your iPhone and the little it sends to our server.

Your scans stay on your iPhone

Scanning uses the camera and the LiDAR sensor of your iPhone. Everything after that happens on the device: the floor plan, the room areas, the 3D model at every detail level (Walls, Photos, Objects and Full scan), the photos on the walls, the LiDAR mesh and every export file. Scans, photos, 3D models, the LiDAR mesh and exports are stored inside the app on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to us, we never see them, and no part of a scan is sent anywhere for processing.

No account, no name, no email

CasaScan has no sign up and no login. We never ask for your name, your email address, your phone number or your home address, and the app does not read your location or your contacts.

What does leave the device

The app talks to one server only: the Roadtrip App Hub, run by Roadtrip Technologies, the developer of CasaScan. This is everything it sends.

• A random identifier. The first time you open CasaScan, the app creates a random identifier on your iPhone. It is not your name, your email address, your Apple Account or your device's advertising identifier. It is sent with the items below so they can be counted together.
• Your setup answers. If you go through the setup on first launch, the app sends the choices you tap and how far you got: what you want to use CasaScan for, which result you want, your measurement units, the first export format you pick, whether you skipped the setup, whether your iPhone has LiDAR and whether you allowed the camera. Nothing you type is sent.
• What happens on the CasaScan Pro screen. The app reports when the Pro screen opens and where it was opened from (an export, a Pro tool or the menu), which plan you looked at, when you tap to buy, whether a plan could not be loaded, whether a purchase started, completed or failed, whether a restore was done, when you close the screen, and which version of the screen you saw when we test a different layout or price.
• Purchase status. To confirm a purchase, the app asks the App Hub whether CasaScan Pro or a single export is active for your random identifier. The same identifier is attached to your purchase, so Apple sends the App Hub notifications about it (for example renewals, cancellations and refunds) with the product, the dates, the price and the App Store country. Apple never gives us your name, your email address or your payment details.
• App version and build. The requests above carry the app version, and when the app starts it reports which version and build number is running.

No advertising, no tracking

CasaScan shows no advertising and contains no advertising, tracking or third party analytics SDK. It does not use your device's advertising identifier, does not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell, rent or trade any data. What the App Hub receives is used only to check purchases, to see where people stop in the setup and on the Pro screen, and to test layouts and prices.

Camera, photos and files

CasaScan asks for camera access only to scan rooms. The photos taken during a scan are used to texture your model and stay in the app. When you export, iOS asks you where to save or share the file, and the file goes only where you send it.

App Store purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details.

Deleting your data

Delete a scan in the app to remove it and its exports from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone, including the random identifier, and a new install starts with a new one. Your scans were never uploaded, so there is nothing of them to delete on a server.

To have the records tied to your identifier deleted from the App Hub, write to support@onlyroadtrips.com or reach us through the CasaScan help center. If you bought something, include the order ID from Apple's receipt email so we can find the records linked to that purchase.

Children

CasaScan is suitable for all ages. It asks no one, children included, for a name, an email address or any other personal detail.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
